Star Trek Discovery, now with Spock!

Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman confirmed the news at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.

Star Trek Discovery returns in January.

I Mark Carras, the host of Nerds Drink Whiskey, have watched the new Kevin Smith show Hollyweed!

Although I have never indulged in the green and sticky, I found the show to be hilarious!

The soundtrack might have been slightly annoying, but the show is so funny that I didn't care.

This is the best new comedy in a very long time.

I can't recommend it enough.

Follow the link in the show notes to give it a view, but don't watch it at work.

Pressure is being aimed at Disney for James Gunn being fired.

You might have heard that James Gunn was fired from the Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 movie for something said about a decade ago.

Many in Hollywood have come out to not just support him, but point out that being fired after trying to be a better person is a bad direction to go.

Actress Selma Blair urged Disney to "RE-HIRE JAMES GUNN" and encouraged her followers to sign a petition in support of him.

As of Monday, nearly 200,000 people had signed the petition.

Others voicing support are Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt,  and Rick And Morty co-creator Justin Roiland.

Comedian/actor Patton Oswalt took aim at far-right social media personality Mike Cernovich, who is credited with digging up Gunn's old comments.

"This is one of the LESS disgusting tweets from Mike Cernovich, the dude who, after running a Gamergate-style smear campaign, just got James Gunn fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.," Oswalt said in a retweet of what looked to be a tweet from Cernovich about date rape.

Please check the link in the show notes for the full story, because it's a good one!

Game Of Thrones' House Stark gets ink to say goodbye.

Lauren Winzer of Hunter and Fox Tattoo did the art for Sophie Turner.

Maisie Williams just wanted to remind everyone that she is "No One."

Game Of Thrones sadly doesn't return until 2019 sometime.

Robert De Niro might join Joaquin Phoenix in movie.

Joker would be the iconic actors first comic book movie.

The Hollywood Reporter stated Monday that De Niro would play a talk show host for the film set in Gotham City in the 1980s.

Joker is set to start shooting later in the year and is due out Oct. 4, 2019.

Mark Hamill was not dressed as ‘Orange Vader.’

Mark Hamill used a Jedi mind trick on us all.

During the hype of Comic-Con, Hamill retweeted someone using the handle 'Brendan Bajillioz' who thought Hamill was the one dressed as what he called 'Orange Vader.'

Hamill followed up about 19 hours later with "Breaking News: FANS SLAM SHAM-HAM SCAM- Actor Mark Hamill says it was all in good fun & simply a joke meant to playfully mind-trick his fans. He claims (without proof) most people enjoyed his massive San Diego Comic Con-Job!"

Follow the link in the show notes for the full and funny story.

The Mary Sue has an interesting take on the latest Buffy news.

In case you didn't hear, Buffy The Vampire Slayer is being re-booted.

This time with an African-American actress in the iconic role, a female African-American showrunner in charge, and some asking some very important questions.

The writer points out that "Unless original work from creators of color gets made, it’ll never belong to that community."

She follows that with "It’d be better if it were spinoff series with a black Slayer—which could still turn out to be the case, with the show still in early development—because then, at least, she could be her own person, but even that doesn’t have the same benefits as something wholly original."

Although we don't entirely agree with everything said in the article, it is very much worth reading.

Zachary Quinto Confirms R-Rating For Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek Movie.

Zachary Quinto recently talked to USA Today and had this to say:

We’re waiting on specifics. I’m thrilled that we might have the opportunity to work with [Tarantino] and see what he would do with us in this universe. It’s going to be an R-rated version of Star Trek, which would be the first (in) the movies, and that’s exciting. I’ve been a fan of his for years, and I’m really inspired by his originality. Take that originality and mix it with this world full of incredible ideology and colorful characters, and the result could be pretty thrilling.

Between the blood and F-bombs that Quentin Tarantino is known for, none of this should be too shocking, but what are your thoughts on the Quentin Tarantino Star Trek?

Stan Lee is getting animated with the Teen Titans.

In Teen Titans Go to the Movies, Stan Lee is a character.

It's a superhero movie cameo where he makes fun of himself, for doing so many superhero movie cameos.

Is this the most meta thing you've heard about today?

Bobcat Goldthwait lashes out at Disney!

In response to James Gunn being fired, Bobcat Goldthwait asked Disney To Remove His Voice From an upcoming Park Attraction.

“I would hate for you to come off as hypocritical so I’m suggesting you remove my voice from the attraction that’s coming to your park. It’s called WORLD OF COLOR – VILLAINOUS, and I reprise the role of Pain, a role I played in HERCULES,” Goldthwait writes. “You see here’s the deal, years ago I made a lot of sarcastically shocking and offensive jokes. Many that I’m embarrassed about now, and I’d hate to make you guys look bad seeing that I’m openly critical of the president and his administration, and you seem to be taking your lead from some of his radical fringe supporters.”

I think this is the most classy thing Bobcat Goldthwait has ever done!

So they have decided to do a re-boot of Buffy The Vampire Slayer eh?

Most fans are already preparing to hate this.

Since they have also announced that they want an African American lead, we know what the result will be.

Just like with the Ghostbusters re-boot, The Last Jedi, and a few other incidents, they will call you racist and sexist if you say that it sucks.

But I think I have a way to make everyone happy.

What about a deep dive on the two black Slayers already in the Buffyverse?

Let's do a deep dive on the backstory of Kendra Young and her Watcher Sam Zabuto?

Then maybe mix in some flashbacks of Nikki Wood as well.

Any fellow Buffy fans out there?

They are going to do it no matter what we think, but how would you guide them to make it not suck?

Nathan Fillion Gets Honest About Booster Gold Rumors.

The actor recently opened up about Booster Gold at San Diego Comic-Con, and while he isn't actively campaigning for the role, he thinks he'd be great at it.

I heard that. He's a great character. Am I vying for the role? And do I want an internet thing to go crazy? No, I don't want that to happen. Do I think it's a great role? Yes. Would I do an amazing job... I like to think that I would... I like to think that I would. I like to think I would. He's a great character. He's such a dufus. I could do that.

Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon apologizes for Distasteful Video.

The resurfaced video involved the assault of children as part of a scheme to stop serial killers by traveling back in time.

“In 2009, I made a ‘pilot’ which strove to parody the series ‘Dexter’ and only succeeded in offending,” Harmon said in a statement obtained by Variety. “I quickly realized the content was way too distasteful and took the video down immediately. Nobody should ever have to see what you saw and for that, I sincerely apologize.”

Cosplayers Rally For Rose at Comic Con!

I don't care how much you hate the Disney era of Star Wars, harassing the cast is wrong.

The actress Kelly Marie Tran left social media because internet trolls kept attacking her.

But true Star Wars fans made sure she felt some love, by cosplaying her character Rose Tico from The Last Jedi.

Following James Gunn, Rian Johnson Deletes Tweets.

When Disney fired James Gunn from directing Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Rian Johnson went to work covering his tracks.

Will Mara Jade be in Star Wars 9?

Timothy Zahn created the character Mara Jade, but has not heard anything about Mara Jade being in Star Wars: Episode IX.

When Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, the Expanded Universe was re-branded as Legends.

Many Legends characters have made it back to canon however.

Fans have been passionately begging Lucasfilm to bring Mara Jade to canon again.

In an interview with the Talking Bay 94 podcast, the author said he's unaware if Mara Jade is in the Episode IX screenplay. However, he would be interested in seeing the character make the leap from Legends to canon, as long as it was the right fit.

Check out the link to a great article on the potential for a Mara Jade appearance in the show notes.

Will International Drinkers Will Save bourbon from a Bust?

According to the Distilled Spirits Council, more than 23 million cases of American whiskey were sold in 2017, much of it bourbon, bringing over $3 billion in revenue for distillers.

Times have not always been so good.

In the late 1970s and through the early 2000s, when limited-edition bottles and cult favorite Pappy van Winkle burst onto the scene, bourbon was overshadowed by vodka’s immense popularity.

The industry’s ace in the hole could be exports.

“Despite the renaissance the category has enjoyed, bourbon is still underdeveloped globally versus other whiskey categories like Scotch,” Rob Mason, vice president of whiskies marketing at Beam Suntory, says.

“Globally, the total market for Scotch and American whiskey is $6.7 billion,” Heaven Hill’s master distiller Denny Potter says.

“In today’s market, Scotch accounts for an 82 percent share of those sales. If American whiskey moved the needle just 10 percent, exports would exceed $2 billion. Compare that to domestic American whiskey sales of $4 billion.”

For political and logistical reasons, 2018 could be a challenging time to bring a distinctly American spirit to international markets.

Only one out of five Game Of Thrones Prequels have survived!

For obvious reasons HBO has been pulling out all the stops to keep the Game Of Thrones brand alive after the final season.

They even had five entire spin offs being developed at one time.

One has been approved, but the others were sent to a Red Wedding.

For more details, check the link in the show notes.

Johnnie Walker's New Blend Includes ghost whiskies.

New Buffy showrunner walks back the term reboot?

showrunner Monica Owusu-Breen made an interesting post to Twitter yesterday.

For some genre writers it’s Star Wars.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my Star Wars.

Before I became a writer, I was a fan. For seven seasons, I watched Buffy Summers grow up, find love, kill that love. I watched her fight, and struggle and slay.

There is only one Buffy. One Xander, one Willow, Giles, Cordelia, Oz, Tara, Kendra, Faith, Spike, Angel... They can’t be replaced. Joss Whedon’s brilliant and beautiful series can’t be replicated. I wouldn’t try to.

But here we are, twenty years later.

And the world seems a lot scarier.

So maybe, it could be time to meet a new Slayer.

And that’s all I can say.

Could we still get a origin story of Kendra Young?

The backlash against Kathleen Kennedy continues!

She is the boss of Lucasfilm so in the end this all lands at her feet.

She hired directors, fired directors, and hired new directors, all within a single film.

She hired Rian Johnson, then gave him an entire trilogy!

The Last Jedi has fans more ticked off than a Jar Jar Binks tribute at Star Wars Celebration!

There have been rumors for weeks that she has either been forced out, or will step aside voluntarily for Star Wars 9.

Some are saying that she is giving JJ Abrams complete creative control.

There are also rumors that Disney boss Bob Iger wants Kathleen Kennedy out, but no one will take her job.

September is when this will all hit the proverbial fan.

Do you think it's true?

Last week we got the first look at Zachary Levi as Billy Batson/Shazam!

This seems to have excited fans.

It also inspired some to go a bit crazy with memes.

There are a few of them.

They are all exactly what you'd expect from the internet.

Yet perfect at the same time.

Please post your favorite Shazam memes in the comments section.

Shazam hits theaters on April 5th 2019.

Bogus Production Problems Might Stop Bill & Ted 3 From Happening.

Please someone tell us this isn't true?!

In a recent interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Keanu Reeves sounded doubtful.

“I don’t know if [Bill & Ted 3] is a reality,” adding, “We’ve been trying for a long time to get that film made, and it still has its challenges.”

Shut up Ted!

Warcraft director Duncan Jones's next movie to be an adaptation of the classic 2000 AD character Rogue Trooper.

No further details about the Rogue Trooper movie have been revealed as yet, but the final line on Duncan's recent Twitter teaser suggests that more information will follow very soon--possibly at San Diego Comic-Con, which takes place next weekend.

If the movie happens it will be Jones's fifth film; most recently he directed the sci-fi thriller Mute for Netflix.

Rogue Trooper was created by writer Gerry Finley-Day and artist Dave Gibbons, and he first appeared issue 228 of 2000 AD, in 1981.

Stan Lee returns to Social Media!

The Twitter message text simply said "I’M BACK! – Stan."

However it included a video where the 95 year old explained that it took awhile to get used to being 79 years old.

He of course ended it with "Excelsior!,"

Godzilla: King of the Monsters first look.

The movie starts five years after 2014's Godzilla.

“The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting,” says director Michael Dougherty.

The director continued, “but there’s paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we’re threatened by others like his kind.”

In King of the Monsters they make it clear that there are other big beasts such as three-headed King Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan, and possibly more.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is out May 31st 2019.

If Tron and Mad Max Had A Baby.

A hubless motorcycle?

It looks really cool at first, but then you start to notice things.

The bike never turns.

A pedal bicycle is keeping up with the motorbike at one point.

The design would give me a massive fear of potholes.

But it does look pretty cool.

Nathan Fillion As Uncharted's Nathan Drake.

In short that clocks in just short of 15 minutes, Nathan Fillion leads an all star cast Uncharted mini-movie.

Also starring in the fan film is Stephen Lang (Avatar, Tombstone) as Sully, Geno Segers (Banshee, Brawl in Cell Block 99) as Diego, Mircea Monroe (Episodes, Hart of Dixie) as Elena, and Ernie Reyes Jr. (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, The Rundown) as El Tigre.

Jeremy Renner out of The Mission: Impossible series.

Due to contractual obligations to Marvel, Jeremy Renner's William Brandt is out.

Writer and director Christopher McQuarrie talked recently to Digital Spy about the absence.

“So there was just simply no predicting. If we had a finished script, we would have been able to say, ‘Yes, this will work and we can let you go for this time,’ but there was just no predicting what those roles were going to turn out to be. It was just an unfortunate case of bad timing.”

Stan Lee is the boss now.

Stan Lee is back with a new comedic series titled Work Force, which depicts the everyday zany lives of boss Lee and his team of superhero employees.

It's called Workforce and seems to be an animated comedy series.

Stan Lee himself plays the boss, with a team of superhero staff that he leads.

The series will be launched on website.

Little Book Chapter 2 was Noe Simple Task.

Being the eighth generation Beam family distiller comes with an automatic challenge to bring out the finest product.

Frederick Booker Noe III had to live up to the standard brought by Booker's bourbon, its namesake Booker Noe, and the legacy of the Jim Beam family.

Even the name of the whiskey is the nickname his grandfather Booker Noe gave him.

Although the second chapter of the Little Book series was his 34th attempt, the balance of Kentucky Straight Rye, Canadian Whisky, and Canadian Rye might be just what was needed.

It's a bold step to release a blended whiskey when you come from a legacy of straight bourbons and rye whiskies.

"In the end, I found the 40-year-old whisky and 13-year-old rye helped me achieve exactly what I wanted—a truly balanced and refined whiskey with a nice, lingering finish that’s full of flavor."

Will Mark Millar's Netflix series make him a Kingsman, and will it kick ass?

Mark Millar is best known for his work in comic books The Authority, The Ultimates, Marvel Knights Spider-Man, Ultimate Fantastic Four, Civil War, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Wanted, Chrononauts, Superior and Kick-Ass, the latter seven of which have been, or will be, adapted into feature films.

His next creations are strictly for Netflix.

"Jupiter’s Legacy” follows the world’s first generation of superheroes who received their powers in the 1930’s.

American Jesus follows a 12 year old boy reincarnated as Jesus Christ.

Three movies that are included in his Netflix deal are “Empress,” “Huck” and “Sharkey the Bounty Hunter.”

Will these live up to his reputation as a comic book writer?

Greg Berlanti developing Batwoman for CW.

Many already joke that Greg Berlanti owns the CW, but those jokes are only going to ring more true

Greg Berlanti and Caroline Dries are developing the drama ahead of the lesbian character's debut in the network's DC crossover event in December.

Batwoman revolves around Kate Kane, who, armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence.

Who would you cast as Batwoman?

Kevin Smith Isn’t Afraid Of Failing With ‘Hollyweed’

We've told you about Kevin Smith's new pot series that he launched on Rivit.

We now know that this new crowd funding site needs to bring in $5.3 million to greenlite six more episodes.

This doesn't include the pilot that you can watch now at the Rivit website.

If you had asked me [to do this] like six months ago, I would have been like, “Oh, I don’t know because what if it doesn’t work, and then I look like an a**hole or something like that.” I almost died f***ing five months ago, so now I’m like, “Let’s try it, man.”

To help Stan continue the tradition started with Stan’s Soapbox, POW’s social media team created and has for years solely managed therealstanlee Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts, as well as the Facebook page realstanlee, with Stan’s participation and approval."

"But, recently access and management of the Twitter account was temporarily out of our (and Stan’s) control. That situation has now been rectified. Stan Lee’s social media accounts are once again being exclusively managed by POW with Stan’s participation."

The Game Of Thrones cast was given disappearing scripts.

The battle against spoilers has been brought to a new level.

Cast members were not even given physical scripts.

Scripts were instead given through an app and would disappear after they had a chance to memorize their lines.

Logan director suggests what went wrong with The Last Jedi.

Although Lucasfilm continues to attack fans for the continued fall of the Star Wars franchise, a highly respected director and producer had some wise advice.

James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Wolverine) recently tweeted, “Let movies be free, the same way comics’ve been. Superman didn’t look the same in 1952 as they did in 78 or 99. Encourage filmmakers to follow passion/story over universe building which is just a way to hook you for more dollars. Nolan never could have made Batman Begins if making a sequel.”

He then quickly followed that up with “Perhaps not in a film called Episode ___, however.”

District 9 and Chappie director Neill Blomkamp directing new Robocop movie.

They claim that Robocop Returns will not be a re-boot, but a sequel to the original Robocop movie.

But wasn't there already a sequel to that first Robocop movie?

So isn't this the definition of a reboot?

The $1,200 Whisky Flight!

It’s available at The Bar at the Baccarat Hotel in New York City.

Have you ever had whisky that costs $400 per ounce?

The flight is comprised of Dalmore 40 Year Old, Dalmore 35 Year Old, and Dalmore 25 Year Old. Add up the expressions and you get a nice even 100 years of whisky.

The flight includes three different ages of Dalmore whisky.

The 40 year old, a 35 year old, and a 25 year old.

Only 750 bottlings of Dalmore 40 are released annually, and 1,000 of the 25 and 35, so this stuff is rare.

To read a very well done review of the flight, check the link in the show notes above.

It may be lucky that they did, as Omega Underground reports that Opaloch gave away the movie's real title: Avengers: End Game

DC Comics Spoiled Batman and Catwoman's Wedding in the New York Times.

The New York Times ran a story about the upcoming Batman #50.

It's due out Wednesday with writing by Tom King and art by Mikel Janin, with colors by June Chung and lettering by Clayton Cowles, along with a bevy of guest artists.

The article reveals that Batman isn’t getting married this Wednesday.

Batman and Catwoman, the legendary hero/anti-villain pairing, is not meant to be.

At least not in the canon DC Universe, that is.

What's keeping Disney from dismissing Kathleen Kennedy from Star Wars.

Rumors continue that Disney's Bob Iger is trying to get rid of Kathleen Kennedy.

Apparently nobody wants her job because Kathleen Kennedy has created a house that's divided.

Her fierce supporters (that she put in place), against the loyalists to the brand itself (that were there before Kathleen).

A Thanos-inspired subreddit is about to ban more than 100,000 members.

The moderators behind r/thanosdidnothingwrong, a forum dedicated to the Avengers’ arch-nemesis, will ban half of its members on July 9 in honor of Thanos’ ultimate goal: destroying half of the world’s population to protect survivors from starvation and overcrowding.

Infinity War makes it very clear this isn’t the best way to handle major problems afflicting our very survival, but some fans have clung to Thanos’ theory.

That means taking his word as gospel and annihilating half of the subreddit’s virtual population.

Avengers: Infinity War Blu-Ray Includes 30 Mins Thanos Backstory?

It seems that a 30 minute bacstory for Thanos hit the cutting room floor before theatrical release.

It is rumored that the footage will be released as part of the Blu-Ray release.

Well, more than a rumor since it was said by Jim Starlin, who was the writer of The Infinity Gauntlet!

He says that the footage won’t just be included as deleted scenes, but will be incorporated back into the film and presented as an Extended Cut either on the initial Blu-ray release or perhaps a special edition that’ll be released before Avengers 4 hits.

Firefly #1 goes on sale in November.

Ahmed Best was the actor who played Jar Jar Binks

He recently tweeted that fans were so nasty that he considered suicide.

Best made the announcement Tuesday, in a tweet pic of himself and his son on a bridge.

"This was the place I almost ended my life. It’s still hard to talk about. I survived and now this little guy is my gift for survival."

He never mentioned "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace" specifically, but did mention "20 years" ago, which lines up to his role as Jar Jar Binks.

He's previously said the negative reaction from the public included death threats.

Jack Daniel's will no longer sponsor the Iditarod.

The maker of Jack Daniel’s whiskey has dropped its long-running sponsorship of Alaska’s Iditarod sled race, the company said on Wednesday.

The move by Louisville, Ky.-based Brown-Forman followed a tough year for organizers of the 1,000-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race who have faced financial hardships, the loss of other sponsors and its first-ever dog doping scandal.

Jack Daniel’s decided to go a different direction by shifting most of its marketing efforts to a partnership with the National Basketball Association, company spokesman Svend Jansen said in a statement.

Of course the entire point of superhero movies is to unplug from reality, but if when things get too crazy it can make even that a challenge.

So have you ever raised an eyebrow over how Captain America survived being frozen?

Marvel has used science to back up the character's survival, and apparently the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. in Las Vegas actually features an explanation for the character's survival. In the Captain America section of the area, it says:

Physical examination of Capt. Rogers revealed that while thickened, his blood's water was not frozen. Blood tests revealed that his blood contained excessive amounts of glucose as a result of his liver processing his glycogen stores, thus lowering the freezing temperature of blood-borne water and creating a 'cryoprotectant'. This process is similar to that of Water-Bears (Tardigrades) and hibernating Wood Frogs who metabolize glycogen in their liver to circulate copious amounts through their body to reduce the osmotic shrinkage of cells and stop from freezing. This, however, has never been seen before in humans.

Do you find this plausible enough?

'The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan Asks Fans To Stop Showing Up At His House Unannounced.

The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan is having a hard time with fans showing up at his house uninvited.

The actor, who previously starred in Supernatural and the Watchmen movie, took to Twitter on Tuesday to request his fans stop showing up at his house as if they're old pals just to knock on the door. In the words of his Negan character, it's "not cool."

The tweet in full reads:

Dear people that think it’s a solid plan to come to our house, take pictures, drive up to house, knock on door... it’s not a good plan. It’s rude and creepy. Respect our privacy please. And... you’re being recorded.

Kevin Smith Is Trying to Find Comic Book Men a New Network.

AMC pulled the plug on the program in late June, but there's a chance it could continue if it's picked up. For now, nothing is certain.

The show centered around Smith and his friends Brian, Walter, Mike, and Ming who all hang out at a comic book store owned by Smith himself.

The reality-TV show ran for an impressive seven seasons equaling 96 episodes before it was canceled last week.

Smith may be fishing his show around to other networks but so far none of the networks have bitten.

2 weeks ago, half a bourbon warehouse collapsed. Now, the other half is down.

Perhaps it was only a matter of time, but the remaining half of a Kentucky bourbon warehouse, which collapsed two weeks ago has come crashing down.

The second half of the building has collapsed, sending another 9,000 barrels of liquor crashing down along with it.

The Barton 1792 Distillery in Kentucky, which can store up to 20,000 barrels, was undergoing repairs at the time of the first incident back in June.

Barrels from that collapse still haven't been cleaned up because of worker safety concerns, CNN affiliate WLKY reported. It's not clear what caused either collapse.

Caught In Tariff War, U.S. Distillers Fear Losing Out On Global Whiskey Boom.

U.S. whiskey distillers are fretting over the steep new tariffs they're facing around the world.

They're being punished as U.S. trading partners retaliate against the Trump administration's tariffs on steel and aluminum.

Now, the distillers fear that a long boom in U.S. whiskey exports could be coming to an end.

Kentucky bourbon has experienced a huge revival over the past decade — thanks in large part to U.S. trade initiatives that have opened up global markets, says Eric Gregory of the Kentucky Distillers' Association.

DEADPOOL Creator Rob Liefeld Got In Trouble For Asking Russell Crowe To Audition To Play Cable.

Last year, Rob Liefeld Tweeted Russell Crowe about the possibility of auditioning to play Cable in the Deadpool sequel.

Now, the writer has revealed that this Tweet got him in hot water with the studio.

"One night before I went to bed, I didn’t know Russell Crowe was on Twitter, and I stupidly tweeted to Russell Crowe – not ever thinking he’d answer me – and I go ‘Hey Russell, you should read for Cable!’ That didn’t turn out very well, I got yelled at a lot, because I woke up – because he’s in Australia – to Russell Crowe saying ‘Read for it?!’ And my manager said ‘Yeah, Russell Crowe doesn’t read for parts Rob, you kind of insulted him. I’m like ‘I’m sorry! They just haven’t picked Cable yet so I’m just putting it out there.’ And then my phone rings, so some Fox people may or may not have yelled at me for an hour."

Why Lucasfilm is wrong to keep attacking fans.

Remember the Ghostbusters Reboot that failed?

When people brought up the weak script,

They were accused of being racist and sexist.

Yet people couldn't stop raving about how well done Wonder Woman was.

Fans are still talking endlessly about how great Black Panther was too.

Luke Cage gets endless praise,

While Iron Fist Received endless jokes about poor writing.

So is it really misogyny and racism ruining Star Wars?

Or is it weak writing, arrogant directors, and a CEO with a chip on her shoulders?

Now people talk about how weak the writing of The Last Jedi was,

and they are again accused of being racist and sexist.

We see a trend here.

It's not because of sexist and racist fans,

But a lack of quality.

This was a 100% original commentary piece by NDW host Mark Carras.

Patrick Stewart may be hinting at a role in CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery TV series, possibly as Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

The fan favorite captain of the USS Enterprise-D on Star Trek: The Next Generation hasn't been a part of the franchise since the final TNG film, Star Trek Nemesis, released in 2002.

After Nemesis flamed out at the box office, and Star Trek: Enterprise was unceremoniously canceled in 2005, the Star Trek franchise went into hibernation until J.J. Abrams launched his blockbuster reboot in 2009, starring Chris Pine as a younger Captain James T. Kirk.

However, Star Trek was completely absent from television until Star Trek: Discovery premiered in 2017.

The supernatural drama will wrap things up in the spring of 2019 with a 12-episode run — aka Season 3B, titled Shadowhunters: The Final Hunt — that will include a two-hour series finale event.

Jack Daniel's and the impact of trade war!

The maker of Jack Daniel's says tariffs are making it difficult to plan for the future.

The company, Brown-Forman (BFA), reported strong revenue and profit growth for the fiscal year that ended in April, and expects to report more gains ahead.

But it said competition in the developed world, coupled with "potential retaliatory tariffs on American spirits" means that it's "difficult to accurately predict future results."

US bourbon is one of the products targeted by foreign governments in retaliation for the Trump administration's tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the EU, Mexico and much of the rest of the world.

Curiosity Rover Finds Ancient 'Building Blocks for Life' on Mars.

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity has identified a variety of organic molecules, the carbon-based building blocks of life as we know it, in 3.5-billion-year-old Red Planet rocks, one of the papers reports.

"These results do not give us any evidence of life," stressed study lead author Jennifer Eigenbrode, a scientist at the Solar System Exploration Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

"But there is a possibility that [the organics] are from an ancient life source; we just don't know," Eigenbrode told "And even if life was never around, they [the molecules] tell us there was at least something around for organisms to eat."

HBO has officially greenlit a follow-up pilot to its acclaimed international hit Game of Thrones and it sounds just as massively ambitious as the original series.

The network has ordered a prequel drama from writer Jane Goldman and author George R.R. Martin.

The network has released an official description of the show’s story line.

Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.

He could get away with murder. Anyone else, it might be highly scrutinized and punished, but he’s beyond forgivable.”
Ruffalo famously let out a major Avengers: Infinity War spoiler last summer at D23 Expo when he went to say “half” of the characters in the then-upcoming crossover epic die, only to quickly correct himself and let slip “everybody dies.”

The budget is not that big.
They still want to 'Party on dudes!'
They still want us to 'Be excellent to each other.'
