Negan from The Walking Dead smacks down failed Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer.

When the flood of fans were mourning the death of Stan Lee, Armie Hammer felt the need to sling mud.

“So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee. No better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself.”

He followed that up by saying “If Stan impacted your life (ie. All of our lives) with his work, post his work that touched you the most. Posting a selfie makes his death about you and how cool you felt taking a picture with him.”

The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan brought out his barbed wire wrapped club to respond with...

“Looks like you found a way to use others ways of mourning and their memories to draw some attention to yourself. You sound like a real asshat.”

So wait... Negan is a superhero and The Lone Ranger is a villain?

Deadpool's Gina Carano joins The Mandalorian.

Most of us know Carano as Angel Dust from the first Deadpool movie.

As the second cast member to be announced for The Mandalorian, we can only guess that it's a prominent role.

She joins Pedro Pascal in the Jon Favreau produced series.

The four confirmed movies with Stan Lee's Involvement:

The two absolutely confirmed cameos are Captain Marvel and Avengers 4.

However, his voice will be heard in both Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and Ralph Breaks The Internet.

In further Stan lee news:

Stan Lee's daughter claims that she has created a new character called DIRT MAN with her father before he passed away.

Could Dirt Man be legit or is this more of his daughter trying to milk his legacy for all she can?

Will Dirt Man have that Stan Lee level of quality to it without the collaboration of Steve Ditko?

Only time will tell.

Every episode of Game Of Thrones season 8 will be over an hour long.

Game Of Thrones director David Nutter let fans know this in a recent Reddit AMA.

Some rumors are claiming that the episodes will run about 90 minutes long.

Nutter also insinuated that season 8 will have moments that outshine the infamous Red Wedding.

It is also now confirmed that season 8 will kick off in April of 2019 on HBO.

It seems now that if a major movie doesn't break a billion dollars, that it is a failure.

The budget for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was about $200 Million.

Although the movie won't open in the United States until Friday November 16th, many are speculating about it's potential.

If it earns between $65 million and $75 million domestically, that would put it pretty close to what the last Fantastic Beasts movie made.

This could mean that the movie would rake in around $800 million.

With fan reaction to this sequel being much better than the first Harry Potter prequel, it could end up making more.

Do you think this movie will be more magical than the last one at the box office?

Hot off of a lawsuit with The Satanic Temple, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has announced a holiday episode.

The new trailer for Pokemon: Detective Pikachu has been released.

I can't be the only one who is extremely disturbed by Deadpool being the voice of Pikachu.

Yes, you heard that correctly. Ryan Reynolds is the voice of Pikachu.

Some wanted Danny DeVito, but I'm not sure that would be much better.

Is your childhood ruined yet?

Although there are many rumors about what the actual title will be for Avengers 4, the loudest of these is Annihilation.

Another rumor that keeps gaining steam is that the trailer will be released just in time to be played before the new Mary Poppins movie.

The source for this is one Jeremy Conrad and he seems to know more than the average fan.

His prediction also includes that the Avengers 4 trailer will leak well before the December 19th premiere of Mary Poppins Returns.

Warner Brothers have confirmed that they are in fact going to move forward with the live action version of the classic Jonny Quest cartoon.

The director Chris McKay is most known for his work on The LEGO Batman Movie.

Many have brought up the challenges of rebooting the Hanna-Barbera cartoon created by Doug Wildey in the mid-1960s.

The character Hadji does not transfer well to modern times, but we are sure that talented enough writers can turn this to a positive, right?

Marvel comics legend and icon Stan lee has passed.

Full story later today.

Please post your thoughts on his passing in the comments.

Thanks to our friends at DEAD: for helping confirm this tragic news.

https://therealstanlee.com/

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Although we reported of the tragic passing of Marvel comics legend and icon Stan lee just hours ago, we thought that a full tribute was required in this situation.

Stan Lee joined Timely Comics the same year it started in 1939.

Although shocking to think about now, he started at the company as a gopher boy and assistant.

In 1941, at 19 years old, Stan Lee was made into interim editor.

He had a major part in the creation of characters as legendary as Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Black Panther, the X-Men, Ant-Man, Iron Man, and Thor.

But his first superhero co-creation was the Destroyer, in Mystic Comics #6 in August of 1941.

This legend was also a Veteran. He joined the United States Army in early 1942.

He joked that his military classification was "playwright."

He returned after his World War II military service in 1945.

In the 1950's Lee ended up writing romance, Westerns, humor, science fiction, medieval adventure, horror and suspense.

He became so tired of this that he almost quit entirely, but then publisher Martin Goodman assigned Lee to come up with a new superhero team.

His wife thankfully encouraged him to be selfish and stick to the stories that excited him since he was about to quit anyways and had nothing to lose.

It was when he started giving his superheroes a flawed humanity that everything changed and Marvel was truly born.

In 1961 Timely Comics evolved into Marvel where Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and Jack Kirby made the company what it is today.

Thankfully he lived to see his creations evolve into a multi-billion dollar movie franchise that will be enjoyed by fans for decades to come.

His cameos in these movies help cement his legacy and ensure he will inspire many creators for years to come.

On July 6th of 2017, his wife, anchor, defender, and support system sadly passed away.

From that day to the day he left us, his life came apart, and many say he was never really happy after that.

Today we celebrate all the joy he gave to so many, will continue to give to generations to come, and hope that he is with Joan in the afterlife, and smiling once again.

We will all miss you greatly Stan Lee. Thank you for all you gave to us.

I think the most proper thing we can reply with in the comments is the only word that can describe the man.

So in the comments let's all respond with simply "Excelsior!"

Nerd News for Friday November 9th 2018:

Captain Marvel star Brie Larson promotes phone sex line?

Although I'm pretty sure that it was by complete accident, it did happen.

She very recently Tweeted out an image of her standing at a phone booth with Rock The Vote posters all over it.

If you zoom in on the image however, you will see a number on the pay phone.

That number was once controlled by Disney and used on some of their cable channel shows.

It currently however is a phone sex line.

The shocking part of this story is that there are still working phone sex lines.

Have these people never heard of the internet?

Rogue One live-action prequel series announced!

During a fourth quarter earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger made the announcement that the name of the upcoming Disney streaming service would be simply Disney+.

It was also announced that Diego Luna will bring back his character Cassian Andor to lead the series.

This will of course join the already in production live action series from director Jon Favreau called The Mandalorian.

The Rogue One series will go into production next year and of course cover the time before Rogue One.

More details are coming out about the lawsuit from The Satanic Temple against the Netflix show The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

They are suing for $150 million in damages due to the use of their copyrighted version of religious icon Baphomet.

The Satanic Temple version has less nudity, two children, and is actually more family friendly than Baphomet is shown traditionally.

The lawsuit centers around how everything about the two children in the shows version of the statue is almost exactly like the Baphomet used by The Satanic Temple.

The religious organization tried to deal with the situation outside of court, but was ignored.

Avengers 4 to possibly be 3 hours long according to director Joe Russo.

“The running time on Avengers 4 is currently sitting right at three hours. We’ll see if that holds.” Russo posted recently on Instagram.

Avengers: Infinity War was two hours, forty minutes and was the longest movie in the MCU.

Avengers 4 wrapped in October, they are now editing, and they still haven't told us the title.

Bryan Cranston has confirmed the news that broke yesterday about the Breaking Bad movie

"I have not gotten the script, I have not read the script. So there's the question of whether or not we'll even see Walter White in this movie. Think about that one."

Several outlets are reporting that the story will be centered around Jesse Pinkman trying to escape after being kidnapped, and his quest for freedom.

creator Vince Gilligan is involved so we expect it to be good.

Game Of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin recently sent the blogosphere ablaze by very casually dropping the title The Long Night as if it was the actual title of the upcoming Game Of Thrones prequel.

It seems that Martin was speaking out of turn and had to very publicly backpedal.

"HBO has informed me that the Jane Goldman pilot is not (yet) titled THE LONG NIGHT.   That’s is certainly the title I prefer, but for the moment the pilot is still officially UNTITLED."

The very long awaited next book in the Game Of Thrones series hits bookstore shelves in less than two weeks November 20th with Fire And Blood.

The final season of Game Of Thrones hits HBO sometime next year.

J.J. Abrams 3 Star Trek films together made just over one billion dollars, his one Star Wars film made over 2 billion dollars alone, and his other films and tv shows together have raked in way more than both of those universes combined.

Well, it looks as if Abrams is looking to step things up to the next level now.

He is working on a deal that would include movies, television, digital content, music, games, consumer products, and even theme park opportunities.

He is rumored to be holding court at a table with several studios trying to win his services in the negotiations.

We all miss the show Breaking Bad, but Walter White is dead, so it's all over, right?

The mighty Geeks Of Doom reports that a Breaking Bad movie is actually in the works.

There is no word on if the movie would be for television or the movie theaters.

With Better Call Saul taking care of the before, it would be a solid guess that the movie will take place after after Breaking Bad ended.

No word has leaked if any original cast members will return, but it will be part of the Breaking Bad universe.

Rumors are saying that the story "tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom."

Vince Gilligan, Mark Johnson, and Melissa Bernstein are all reportedly returning to their spots behind the scenes.

Vince Gilligan will write, executive produce, and maybe even direct.

A reboot of The 4400 is currently being developed.

Does Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald break canon?

There is a young Professor Minerva McGonagall in the latest movie.

Nerds Drink Whiskey recently announced that our Christmas party on December 8th will feature the most nerdy whiskey we can find.

Just in time Star Trek has announced Montgomery Scott Blended Scotch Whiskey.

Yes this is a Scotch named after Scotty from the original Star Trek.

The plans are to have it on the selves just in time for our Christmas party on December 8th.

A James T. Kirk Bourbon Whiskey has been out since this past summer.

In the worst news ever department: There is a rumor that Matt Smith might play a young Sheev Palpatine.

So my least favorite Doctor might be my all time favorite villain?

This could mean that J.J. Abrams is making something from Legends into cannon.

In Star Wars Legends Palpatine used Essence transfer to clones in order to cheat death.

This could also be an interesting twist since in Legends Palpatine tries to overtake the conscience of Anakin Solo.

In current cannon Anakin Solo is called Ben Solo, which is of course Kylo Ren.

I want to try something new for Nerd News.

About once a week I will pose a question to everyone to chime in on.

The question is simple: Is it nerdy?

HBO has announced that the long promised Deadwood movie is officially in production.

The film will begin ten years after season three ended.

Almost the entire cast has returned with Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, Paula Malcomson, Dayton Callie, and many more.

The shows' creator David Milch wrote the movie too, so this should excite fans to no end.

Although everyone on the Nerds Drink Whiskey podcast are fans of the show, is it nerdy?

Lincoln's character Rick Grimes just had his goodbye episode of the show.

Although the show has fallen in viewership recently, it's not in the danger zone yet.

A whiskey icon has died and we should all raise our shot glasses high in his honor.

Pouring a little out is for kids who drink cheap beer.

For Dave we should raise a shot of Whistlepig Rye and sip it slowly.

Dave Pickerell just weeks ago helped the band Metallica release their Blackened whiskey.

But true whiskey fans know why the legendary band picked Dave in the first place.

Dave spent 14 years at Makers Mark, but recently split his time between several projects.

WhistlePig, Hillrock, and an old-fashioned distillery at George Washington’s plantation in Mount Vernon.

His specialty was rye whiskey, but he was a master distiller of so much more.

He died on November 1st at 70 years old.
